Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming KeyboardExtremeTech has a review of the Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard.  I personally don’t think it’s the most fantastic keyboard ever, but it is pretty cool.

As a gaming keyboard, the Reclusa comes up a bit short compared with gaming keyboards that preceded it. There’s no rearrangement of keys to cater to certain types of games, as there is on the Timber Wolf and Ideazon MERC keyboards. And if we’re just talking about macros, there seems to be a short supply compared with the G11 and G15. The Reclusa has ten macro keys and two jog dials to play with, which seems like a lot, but macro junkies might demand more. You can surrender one or more keys to switch profiles on-the-fly, but that can get messy and take up too much time.

Not sure if I will bite on this one…

Samsung YP-U3

Samsung YP-U3Samsung has a very neat offering to compete with the iPod shuffle called the YP-U3. I’ll admit, the name is not quite as catchy (seems like the marketing department could use some help).

  • Capacity: 1, 2, and 4GB
  • 1″ OLED display
  • Audio: MP3, WMA, and Ogg
  • RDS Tuner
  • 15 hours of battery life
  • Dimensions: 25.4 x 80 x 11mm

I’m realling digging the screen.  It definitely seems like a step forward from the iPod shuffle.

    Wii gets it’s first mic

EA is going to be offering a new mic for the Wii being bundled with the game ‘Boogie’.

According to this story at joystiq.com:

“The Wii version comes bundled with a microphone, it’s a USB microphone and it’s probably going to be the first mic for the Wii,” he said in a video interview with IGN. Does this mean we will have to sit in a close proximity of the Wii or will there simply be a wireless dongle that attaches to the back? We’re betting on the latter, as being connected to a console while jumping around like a buffoon is a surefire way to destroy your system.

That sounds pretty cool to me!

MyGadgetBag.com now with a new look!

We decided to change some things around in the old server to make it look MGB look a little better.  We hope you like the look!

You can look forward to more posts, and more updates in the days to come.

Cheat Sheets to help you Cheat (sort of)

I think a good cheat sheet is better than any other trick in learning a particular subject. Here are my 10 favorite cheat sheets.

    10. Understand all the concepts that Libertarians believe in? Neither did I, before this cheat sheet landed on my screen:

    9. Hard to find phone numbers for your favorite companies. This isn’t so much a cheat sheet, though, but it’s a good cheat!

    8. iTunes Cheat Sheet. Definitely useful for getting the most out of iTunes (if you use it!).

    7. Chat Abbreviations. We all use them, but can we really keep track of what they all mean? This link might help:

    6. I would guess that anyone that is truly a technical guru (or wants to be one!) has Firefox installed, and probably uses it as their primary browser. Try this cheat sheet:

    5. I really like the below cheat sheet for useful Linux command line tips. There are links, as well as many commands.

    4. World of Warcraft can be taken advantage of even more with the cheat sheet from ILoveJackDaniels.com. It’s available as a PNG image.

    3. Another useful cheat sheet from ILoveJackDaniels. This one is focused on regular expressions. Regular expressions can be tricky to grasp, and even trickier to master. Hopefully, this will help you out some.

    2. This one is a bit of a stretch. It’s actually a link to the rest of the cheat sheets from the person that made the two previous cheat sheets.

    1. The one site I use more than any other is Google. Not surprisingly, Google also offers their very own cheat sheet. I suggest giving this one a whirl, as it may shave some time off your searches, allowing you to reach your goal much quicker.

That’s all of my favorite cheat sheets. Any other good ones I missed?
