Subwoofer without a cone
This is a revolutionary new woofer design. It is the first home audio woofer that delivers true response to DC. It goes as low as 1Hz.
There is some good stuff in this article:
Most subwoofers have a difficult time producing acoustic output below 20Hz at audible levels. They generally require large amounts of equalization, [...]
Top Ten Techie Toilets
These stories are always fun. The top ten list of the coolest toilets that we’ve always wanted!
Carbon fiber is one of the greatest and most expensive materials on earth, due to its superior strength and weight properties. What better way to make full use of its properties then by making a stationary toilet out of [...]
Create your own “World’s Simplest Radio”
This is pretty neat. It is a radio that doesn’t even need a true crystal. It is such an old design, and does work.
The trouble with such a simple receiver (no variable capacitor) is that there is little selectivity and the listener is bombarded by 2 or more stations at once – a [...]
Sony Mylo, another Blah product from Sony?
Gizmodo seems to think that the Sony Mylo is the greatest thing sinced sliced bread. I say, “Hold on, wait up, I bet it’s all proprietary crap”.
It actually isn’t too bad. It will work with Google Talk, and Yahoo messenger, and they say it works with iTunes. It does use my favorite [...]

I like the looks of the Logitech Wireless DJ Music System. It is very sleek looking. How it works is a much better question. I usually question the ease of use of a product from a computer accessory maker.
The Wireless DJ Music System connects the PC to a home-entertainment center or speaker [...]

BBC working on a digital radio for MP3 players
Although I haven’t heard anything good about digital radio (it seems to be somewhat of a scam), the BBC is working on an attachement for MP3 players that would play digital radio stations.
There is no expected release date at this time.
Speaking about the plan for the gadget, the BBC spokesman said the broadcaster was carrying [...]
Greenland’s ice sheet melts at quicker pace
This is a little disturbing, but well known that this would happen. The interesting thing from this article is that if the Greenland ice sheet were to completely melt, sea levels would rise by 21 feet (6.5 meters).
The melting is three times faster than expected from previous data.
One thing that was gleaned from this [...]
Japanase and French satellites put into orbit
There isn’t too much information on this but this is what I have so far:
An Ariane-5 rocket blasted off from French Guiana on Friday, putting into orbit a Japanese civilian communications satellite and a French military communications satellite, officials said.
I wonder what the total count of operating satellites that are orbiting earth is at? [...]
