As a gaming keyboard, the Reclusa comes up a bit short compared with gaming keyboards that preceded it. There’s no rearrangement of keys to cater to certain types of games, as there is on the Timber Wolf and Ideazon MERC keyboards. And if we’re just talking about macros, there seems to be a short supply compared with the G11 and G15. The Reclusa has ten macro keys and two jog dials to play with, which seems like a lot, but macro junkies might demand more. You can surrender one or more keys to switch profiles on-the-fly, but that can get messy and take up too much time.

Not sure if I will bite on this one…

Some guy with a blog called NewTech Inc. has a brief review of the ColdHeat soldering iron.
The reason cold heat isn’t a good soldering iron is because it uses an arch of electricity to heat up the solder. The only problem is, in order to create a good soldered joint, you have to heat up both sides of the metal you are trying to adhere together. If you just heat up the solder, you have what is called a “cold solder connection.” While a cold solder connection will hold up for a short period of time, it will eventually break. I also find it funny that you can’t use a soldering iron on electronics. I always though that was the main use for one. The only reason I even took the time to post this review is to make sure you understand why the solder iron doesn’t work, as the review (which made it on the front page of digg) doesn’t explain why.

Recently NVIDIA responded to ATI’s latest graphics card, the X1800GT. The X1800GT was tested, and proved to be an all around better graphics card. NVIDIA wasn’t about to be outdone, and they have released the new GeForce 7800GTX 512MB beast of a graphics card. A few major PC reviewers got their lucky mits on one and have come out with their test results. Don’t be mistaken, just because it is based on the 7800GTX chipset, it has new features that allow it to increase its clock speeds by a healthy amount. Is the higher clock speeds worth the $650 price tag? Here are a few reviews. Read up and make your own decision.

“I found the Logitech Z-2300’s to be one of the best 2.1 PC speakers I have ever heard, second only to the sound produced by the satellites on the legendary Klispch ProMedia 2.1’s (they have a tweeter). However, the woofer is definitely much more powerful than the one on ProMedia’s, but loses a measure of tightness and control with all that extra weight and power.”

“The tube-shaped Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 is a combination <ZIFFARTICLE id=131326>Apple iPod</ZIFFARTICLE> dock and portable speaker system. The iM7 adds a little oomph to the company’s inMotion line, providing room-filling sound in a stylish white and gray casing.”

Anandtech has reviewed the Samsung SyncMaster 915N. The monitor has a lightning fast 8ms response time, and is competatively priced at around $349.99.

Anandtech concluded, “Compared to other 19” panels that we have recently reviewed, Samsung’s TN display outperforms similar solutions from AUO, CMO and LG.Philips hands down. Response time between each of these panels is quite negligible, but when compared to the 25ms LTM190E4 used in our highly recommended Dell UltraSync 1905FP, the difference is night and day.”

“…the Soundsticks are a superior alternative to the Encounters for bass-loving iPod owners, and a good price-to-performance compromise against the more expensive FX6021s for those who don’t need theater-filling volume or extra control frills. Price being an legitimate factor, we’d still pick the Creatures in a pinch, but that constraint aside, we wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to add a set of the Soundsticks to an iPod or computer setup. They look great, sound great, and won’t kill your wallet.”
